Bio

PAULO BRUSCKY (1949, Recife, Brasil) - Artista multimídia, atua desde os anos 1960 nos campos da arte conceitual, performance, arte correio, poesia visual, videoarte, fotografia, arte sonora, intervenções urbanas, artdoor, instalações, eletrografia, colagem, livro de artista e land art, entre outras linguagens. Premiado com a Guggenheim Fellowship em 1981, viveu em Nova York por um ano, desenvolvendo sua pesquisa em multimeios e a reeducação da percepção sensorial. Artista convidado do Pavilhão Internacional na 57ª Biennale di Venezia - Viva Arte Viva (Itália, 2017); participou das 16ª, 20ª, 26ª e 29ª edições da Bienal de São Paulo (1981, 1989, 2004 – Sala Especial - e 2010) e da 10ª Bienal de la Habana (2009 - artista convidado/sala especial). Em 2017, por ocasião da entrada de suas obras nas coleções do MNAM-CCI/Centre Georges Pompidou, uma seleção de trabalhos foi apresentada no percurso histórico “L’oeil écoute” do museu. Mantém de forma autônoma o Arquivo Paulo Bruscky,  importante acervo documental acerca das vanguardas artísticas do pós-guerra,  com cerca de 70.000 itens, incluindo obras, documentos, publicações, catálogos e correspondências

PAULO BRUSCKY (1949, Recife, Brazil) - Multimedia artist, working since the 1960s in the fields of conceptual art, performance, post art, visual poetry, video art, photography, sound art, urban interventions, artdoor, installations, electrography, collage, artist's book and land art, among other languages. Awarded the Guggenheim Fellowship in 1981, he lived in New York for a year, developing his research in multimedia and the re-education of sensory perception. Guest artist at the International Pavilion at the 57th Biennale di Venezia - Viva Arte Viva (Italy, 2017); participated in the 16th, 20th, 26th and 29th editions of the Bienal de São Paulo (1981, 1989, 2004 - Sala Especial - e 2010) and the 10th Bienal de la Habana (2009 - guest artist / special room). In 2017, on the occasion of the entry of his works in the collections of the MNAM-CCI / Center Georges Pompidou, a selection of works was presented in the museum's historical “L’oeil écoute”. Autonomously maintains the Paulo Bruscky Archive, an important documentary collection about the artistic avant-garde of the post-war period, with about 70,000 items, including works, documents, publications, catalogs and correspondence
